Mr William Mwangi was shot at close range by a police officer after boarding his vehicle.
Witnesses reported that the politician and the police officer had an altercation at a local pub before the police officer took matters into his own hands.
George Karuga, the bar manager, confirmed that the altercatin resulted in a fight that left the police officer with an injury on his face.
“The problem started when the gentleman demanded to drink a bottle of beer but we asked him to pay for it. He asked us if we knew who he was and told him Kenya is a free country guarded by law. We didn’t know he was an officer,” one of Mr Mwangi’s friends told investigators.
