CHAOS ERUPTS IN GARISSA TOWN AS ROWDY YOUTHS SET THE MARKET ON FIRE AFTER IEBC DECLARES A JUBILEE WINNER

Chaos erupted in Garissa market yesterday Thursday after Ali Korane was declared winner of the August 8th election.

Ali Korane garnered 55,968 votes against Wiper party candidate Nathif Jama's 50,471 votes.

The rowdy youths set the town on fire with shops along the road being the most affected. 

Garissa county government fire fighters tried putting down the fire as business owners tried to salvage their property. 

Business was brought to a complete halt and heavy presence of anti riot police was witnessed in the market.

Korane asked the residents to keep calm as his opponent vowed to take his complaints to court.
