.....a month later, reality dawned on them when they identified Lydia's body at the City Mortuary.

Police had collected it from the Ngong forest and an autopsy revealed she had been strangled using her bra, shoe laces and blouse.

The suspect behind the murder is Richard Nyakina who was traced to Gucha in Kisii.

Nyakina confessed to have killed Lydia for cheating on him. He said he had known her for one year and on the fateful day another man called her referring to her as 'sweetie'.

Nyakina had sold Lydia's phone to a form four student in Mukuru kwa Reuben and left for Kisii. The student took police to a barber shop owned by Nyakina's relative who directed them to his hideout in Kisii.

Nyakina was presented to court on Monday, August 21, and police asked for five more days to conduct investigations.

Meanwhile, Lydia's family is toiling with burying their daughter.
