Over 2,000 boys were set to be initiated during the annual Bukusu c!rcumcision ceremony in August 2016.

The Bukusu believe that c!rcumcision is so important that burying a boy who has reached circumcision age, but has not been circumcised, is a taboo. 

It is for this reason why a 38-year-old Bukusu man found himself in trouble after his wife told his village mates that he had not been cut. 

He was caught and circumcised in broad daylight.
