He took a swipe at Mr Odinga noting that the Opposition leader’s remarks that the Supreme Court had a chance to redeem itself in this year’s petition were patronizing. He submitted that courts rule based on evidence and facts.
Another top lawyer appearing on the show, Kamotho Waiganjo, echoed Grand Mulla’s sentiments adding that it would be hard for NASA to overturn the outcome of the results since all parties including observers had given the elections a thumbs up.
“NASA has the burden of proof, they should bring evidence and show loopholes in the IEBC system,” he stated.
On his part, Kenya School of Law Director PLO Lumumba noted that NASA had made the right decision to move to the Supreme Court.He, however, took issue with Raila’s remarks that the courts should redeem themselves mentioning that courts act on evidence and not rumours.
“A court of law is moved by evidence, not rumours. They should submit their case and let the judges make the decision based on the facts.
“Wisdom has taught us that “you should not dare the courts,” he stated.
