Sonko dispatched 50 truckfulls of his team members to carry out the task in a move that surprised many Nairobi residents.

After the deployment, Sonko stated: “The cleaning campaign will continue until Nairobi is declared the cleanest city in Africa”.

The newly elected Governor also decreed, in a Tweet, that photographers will no longer be harassed by county council askaris.
